It’s an election year, which means words like “liar” spout from left and right. I’m not sure it if is war-time angst or bitterness from the closeness of the last election, but this election has seen all kinds of resentment from both sides.

To make things more interesting, a group who call themselves the Swift Vets for Truth have put together a damning spot accusing Kerry of lying about his service record, including lying about an incident witch earned him a Bronze Star.

The commercial is available on the group’s website, SwiftVets.com in QuikTime, Real, Windows Media and MPEG and is airing in several states. If you find it more informative than a Michael Moore flick, I suggest you donate the price of a movie ticket (or more) to the group to keep the spot on the air.

This is Bullshit. John McCain has spoken out against the people who placed the ad, as they did exactly the same thing to him in 2000. Most of those people never served with Kerry and are being paid for by Republican campaigns.

Bush is by far the worst president in this country’s history and we need to get rid of him if we ever want to regain the world’s respect and once more be an honorable country.

This once again proves that Bush will go to any means necessary to win. He no longer cares about this country or the rights of our citizens, only about his hunger for power.

  2. Brian Says:

Is it really? I don’t believe it is any less manipulative that Moore’s 911. It certainly is on the same level of truthfulness. And President Bush, unlike Kerry, refuses to endorse or capitalize on this like Kerry has on Fahrenheit 911.

As for President Bush being “the worst” I don’t believe Kerry could have done any better. He has offered nothing but “hindsight” criticism. America’s struggles in the world now are a product of a changing global climate, not a Texan in the White House.

Kerry plays arm-chair quarterback to hide his liberal policies that do not reflect what most Americans believe in.

The candidate who will win this election will be the one that talks about the future rather than the past.

  3. kerry supporter Says:

I love how Republicans use fear & pessimism, try to divide us, use the constitution as a political tool, and look to the past while accusing the Democrats of focusing on the past and being gloomy.

Everything Kerry has said is about looking to the future, building a stronger america, and uniting us. His view of America is hopeful and optimistic.

  4. Meredith Says:

Kerry’s slogan, “Help is on the way” gives no answers as to what he will do to help out America. No more slogans, please - just hard facts. It’s easy to say what you WOULD have done, but a lot harder to say what you WILL do. It’s time for Kerry to step forward and say how he’s going to end the war and what he’s going to do to end terrorism. Until he proves that he’s got enough guts to fight evil, Bush has got my vote.

  5. another kerry supporter Says:

Are you purposely ignoring how Kerry got his medals? In actual combat? Where he chased down a sniper instead of hiding out in an undeployed National Guard unit where he (documented) disappeared from for several months. Kerry has said what he will do to end terroism, most Bush supportors don’t like it as it seems to involve real work and seeing people of other nations as people and potential allies.

I doubt that Kery will erode my civil rights. Kerry has an actual plan to accept responsibility for Bush’s national debt and start getting it paid down again.

Moore’s 911 is a lot of actual events strung together in close procimity. That does not mean they didn’t happen. They MIGHT even be co-incidenental. Of course, they might not, but say what you will, Micheal Moore did not make up the facts, he merely strung them together to his conculsion.

Please join the rest of us in reality, not the wealthy enclave you currently live in.

  6. Brian Says:

Yes, well you know the comments are about ready to close when the point gets totally lost. BUT I am happy to hear that I live in an wealthy enclave, seeing as I am poor college student supporting a wife and kid. But then again, it is all how you portray it (right Micheal Moore?).

I’d like to invite those who comment to share a legitimate home page, rather than fake email addresses or partisan web portals. We can have a personal conversation and keep things civil, right?

I absolutely agree that hard things have to be done to improve America and the world. Wars are hard, as is going it alone in a tough decision and sticking to convictions. These, along with his creditability and consistency (in particular about the war) are great reasons to vote for Bush.

  7. Gourley Says:

    Hello,

You probably thought I was gone for good. I think there are some dishes that need to be done and don’t eat the apple pancakes.
